Future Village is a research and project-based registered NGO in Nepal founded in mid-2004 by a group of enthusiastic scholars who raised fund to provide education, health and agricultural assistance to more than 700 residents of Katunge Village, 100 km north of the capital Kathmandu. Future Village has since believed that a participatory and empowering approach can help us better understand the needs of the locals. As we grow The Chance Initiative, we continue three important steps to ensure the effectiveness of each program; including research, project implementation (participatory and empowering) and evaluation. Local partnership and zero administration fees are two key principles of Future Village to maximize the benefit for the poor at the lowest cost. (Learn more)
For The Chance Initiative, Future Village acts a central organization planning, directing, organizing and evaluating all aspects of project development. It is responsible for logistical arrangements (transportation and procurement), local coordination, fundraising and other research activities.

Architecture for the Mass
Team: Charles Lai, Eric Ng, Gigi Lee, Oscar Yu, Takehiko Suzuki, Timothy Lam, Yorkun Ho, Yuisze Wong
In response to the disaster of the Nepal earthquake in 2015, Charles Lai from Hong Kong and Takehiko Suzuki from Tokyo founded 人人建築 Architecture for the Mass. The organization aimed to facilitate the collaborations between architecture, engineer and design professionals in response to the humanitarian crisis. It is often said that ‘Earthquakes don’t kill people; buildings kill people’. We aim to use the opportunity of the re-construction to improve the quality of buildings. Using architectural design as an instrument, we provide relief by making damage assessments and design service to those suffering from natural disaster. We believe that through providing design advice and improving the architectural quality, the people can recover from the trauma faster and stronger.
